i'm not talking about a global equilibrium here for all goods and services, but demand-supply equilibrium for each category/type of good/service if you have a true demand-supply equilibrium for a given category/type of good service (i.e. where anyone who wants to get any quantity of any good/service can do so at the [median] cost of that good/service), if you add a fixed margin of profit you can then use that to invest in new goods/services that you wouldn't otherwise think of investing in ...and if you produce the new good/service in abundance i.e. such that anyone who wants to get any quantity of that good/service can do so at the cost of that good/service + fixed profit margin which can go into creating a new good/service and so on ...
