Gendarmerie. That's because the French haven't forgotten their class roots. When

’Child cancer skyrocketing in Basra’

Kuwait and nearby Oman, as well as the US and the European Union and other 
countries," said a study conducted by the University of Washington in Seattle, 
which documented the increase in the cancer rate in Basra.
A suspected source of the afflictions is the depleted uranium (DU) used by the 
invading forces.
It is reported that the United States and Britain used up to 2,000 tons of DU 
during the Iraq war.

quadruple potency vaccine is a blatant admission that single-dose vaccines just 
don't work! Obviously, if the single-dose vaccine was working as advertised, 
then it would be 100% effective and there would be no need for a double, triple 
or quadruple-dose vaccine. But all of a sudden, now that the quadruple-dose 
vaccine is available, the regular single-dose vaccine "isn't good enough."
...
Of course, flu shots have never been about what works in the first place. 
They're about what makes the most money. This new quadruple flu shot is being 
sold at about twice the price of a regular flu shot.

Yesterday our report was of a touch-screen in Dallas, TX, caught on video 
flipping an attempted vote for Republican Gov. Rick Perry to straight-ticket 
Green Party selections in Dallas, TX.
Tyson also went on to report there were long lines reported as voters waited to 
use the two touch-screen voting machines available at one location (paper 
ballots don't cause that problem) and, even more disturbingly, "machines 
reporting 250 ballots cast where 400 voters had signed in to vote."

Before the government begins targeting its own citizens for assassination far 
from a combat zone, it should, at the very least, have to explain to a court why 
such an extraordinary step doesn't violate the Constitution, which promises that 
no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of 
law. In a pending lawsuit, Awlaki's father asks the court to rule that his son 
can't be killed outside armed conflict "unless he is found to present a 
concrete, specific and imminent threat to life or physical safety, and there are 
no means other than lethal force that could reasonably be employed to neutralize 
the threat."
Having slipped to the very bottom of this moral slope, the US government will 
never stop.
Imagine, in the not too distant future,a US citizen getting on the government's 
extrajudicial assassination list for simply (and completely peacefully) 
expressing an opinion different than that of the US government: that is where 
this administration's decision will put this country, if not checked and 
challenged through the court system.

Iraq war logs: British legal threat as UN calls on Obama to look at torture 
claims

Britain's role in the alleged torture and unlawful killing of Iraqi civilians 
may be the subject of legal action following the publication of nearly 400,000 
leaked military documents by the website WikiLeaks.
WikiLeaks document dump appears to have been a carefully prepared plan to stage 
a limited hangout as bait to sell US justification for the war with Iran. 
WikiLeaks provided documents about torture and beatings which was already known 
information, in essence, the "bait."
But recall that rat poison is 90% good food, and the ten percent that kills you 
is the real purpose behind the tasty food, and in the case of WikiLeaks, the 
poison inside the tasty bait are the claims that most Iraqis have been killed by 
other Iraqis and that Iran is the reason the US is unable to win the war. Both 
these claims serve the American propaganda cause and clearly there is ample 
reason to doubt them.
In the present case, however, Assange and the US Government may have hoisted 
with their own petard because the public is ignoring the intended message and 
focusing on the confirmation of the torture allegations. Much of the public 
still did not want to believe that the US Government was carrying our torture on 
a scale to rival the Nazis. This document dump, although containing information 
which was already known to those who were paying attention, has triggered a 
backlash of lawyers and even the United Nations, who now understand they must be 
seen to address these war crimes by the US and British Government.

Viva Palestina convoy reaches Gaza

Pro-Palestinian activists in more than 100 cars and lorries have crossed into 
the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip through Egypt's Rafah crossing with aid worth 
nearly $5m.
The multinational "Viva Palestina" ship arrived at Egypt's port city of al-Arish 
from Lattakia, Syria, earlier on Thursday. About 300 activists then flew into 
al-Arish airport and converged with the ship's passengers before entering Gaza.
The activists had initially joined up in Syria from Turkey, Algeria, Morocco, 
Jordan, and more than two dozen other countries.
The convoy was organised by George Galloway a British politician. However, 
Galloway was not with the convoy after being banned from Egypt following clashes 
between activists from a previous aid mission and police in January in El-Arish, 
45km from Gaza.

Five cases of cholera have been detected in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, the 
UN says, amid an outbreak that has killed more than 200 people.
More than a million survivors of Haiti's devastating January earthquake are

little access to clean drinking water
Given the poor quality of sanitation in Port-Au-Prince, this infection may well 
spread like wildfire.

G20 finance ministers agree to global economic regulations

The rules, announced in September by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, 
will be phased in over several years starting in 2013. They will be formally 
adopted by G20 leaders at a Seoul summit next month.
Under the Basel III reforms, banks of all sizes will be required to hold more 
reserves by January 1, 2015, with the "minimum requirement for common equity", 
the highest form of loss-absorbing capital, raised to 4.5 percent of overall 
assets from 2.0 percent at the moment.
In addition, banks would be required by January 1, 2019 to set aside an 
additional buffer of 2.5 percent to "withstand future periods of stress", 
bringing the total of such core reserves required to 7.0 percent.
The question left unanswered is what happens to the status of the US dollar as 
the world's reserve currency until Basel III starts taking effect?

Why is the UN hosting events with the Simon Wiesenthal Center (for intolerance)?

yesterday with the appealing title, Can Citizen Action Save the World? and where 
did it do so-- at the Simon Wiesenthal Center's "New York Tolerance Center" on

But the Simon Wiesenthal Center has opposed the building of a mosque/Islamic 
center in downtown New York out of pure intolerance... and is building a museum 
in Jerusalem on a historic Muslim graveyard, desecrating graves hundreds of 
years old.

chemicals from the dispersant used in the supposed clean up of the gulf mixed

French pension reform vote passed by parliament

The French parliament has narrowly given its approval to the pension reforms 
which have caused a wave of strikes, demonstrations and protests across France, 
leading to traffic chaos and petrol shortages.
The senate voted 177 to 153 to approve measures including a rise in the official 
retirement age from 60 to 62. The lower house, the national assembly, had 
earlier given its assent.
The vote came after the right-of-centre government of President Nicolas Sarkozy 
used emergency clauses in the constitution to push through the reforms. The 
reforms had stalled in the senate after opposition members tabled hundreds of 
amendments leading to three weeks of debate.

Blago retrial delayed till April

A federal judge in Chicago today granted a defense request to delay the retrial 
of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-Ill.) from January until April 20, a Chicago 
source confirms. That would put the trial after the Feb. 22 election and even 
after a runoff, if necessary, slated for April 5.
That's all good news for mayoral candidate and former White House chief of staff 
Rahm Emanuel, who was subpoenaed as a defense witnesses at Blago's first trial 
but never called. The judge is encouraging defense lawyers to change their 
tactics, so it could be that Emanuel might fit into their revised case. But, 
even if he does, he'll already have been either defeated for elected to the 
mayor's job.
How magnificently convenient for Emanuel!

7 banks closed in Fla., Ga., Ill., Kan., Ariz.

Regulators on Friday shut down a total of seven banks in Florida, Georgia, 
Illinois, Kansas and Arizona, lifting to 139 the number of U.S. banks that have 
fallen this year as soured loans have mounted and the economy has sputtered.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over the banks, the largest of which by 
far was Hillcrest Bank, based in Overland Park, Kan., with $1.6 billion in 
assets.
One cannot look at these continuing bank closures and say the words "economic 
recovery" with a straight face, as those in the White House have done recently.

Nation's Biggest Banks Each Hold over $20B in Foreclosures: Report

New data released this week shows that the nation’s largest banks are holding 
monstrous volumes of soured home loans. Not only has the housing crisis left 
major lenders knee-deep in an ocean of non-performers, but added exposure to 
early delinquencies means they could sink even deeper.
Oh yes, let us all feel sorry for the poor beleaguered lenders!
Those greedy bastard money-addicts created this mess! First a real-estate 
froth-up to drive home prices higher, to bring more interest to the banks on 
home mortgages. Then, using teaser rates and a government supplied $8000 tax 
credit to lure more buyers into the mortgages. But remember that the goal here 
was not a home bubble, but a home MORTGAGE bubble, as those mortgages were 
bundled up and sold as investment vehicles. Ah, but here is the problem! The 
mortgages were sold multiple times into multiple mortgage-backed securities! 
This is criminal fraud. And because the mortgage payments can only go to service 
one mortgage, a lot of those mortgage-backed securities being sold for billions 
of dollars in fast profits were worthless!
This, of course, created a situation where the bankers who bundled and over-sold 
those mortgages need the bad paper to go away and the fastest way to do that is 
crash the economy and foreclose all the mortgages good and bad, to bury the 
evidence (along with the home owners).
This is the scene in the show "The Producers" in which the accountant tells the 
producer that it might be possible to make more money by over-subscribing a show 
designed to fail then by actually working to produce a hit. All very funny in 
the stage play and the film until you realize that this is exactly what the 
nation's financial corporations have done to us all! They over-subscribed the 
mortgage backed securities, making billions by re-selling the same mortgages 
over and over again up to 20 times, then foreclosed on the properties to cover 
the over-subscription!
And Congress, themselves invested in the firms that owned those mortgage backed 
securities, went along with the scam!
The housing market is being intentionally crashed by the banks and the US 
Government!

US Justice Department abandons murder case against Blackwater contractor

The US Justice Department said Monday it would not seek charges against Andrew 
J. Moonen. The Blackwater Worldwide military contractor had been accused of 
killing a guard assigned to an Iraqi vice president on December 24, 2006.
The government’s abandonment of the case against Moonen is the latest instance 
in which security guards working with Blackwater, now known as Xe Services, have 
been allowed to walk free after committing brutal crimes against the Iraqi and 
Afghan population. Other prosecutions of Blackwater personnel have been blocked 
due to immunity deals struck with the accused.
"Justice" in the United States is always available...for a price.

Hate-filled Israeli rabbis incite violence against non-Jews

Vitriolic racism and hatred has become the Israeli norm.
What is particularly disturbing is that leading Israeli rabbis, who are meant to 
be the spiritual and moral guides of the Jewish people, are actually encouraging 
racism, physical violence and even the killing of Palestinians.
The term "hate preacher" has often been used in the Western media about Muslims 
but it seems more appropriate to describe some of the Israeli rabbis for their 
recent statements and guidance.
One would think that the descendants of people who endured what the Jewish 
people endured under the Hitler would be the poster children for tolerance and 
respect for all; unfortunately, the collective Israeli psyche has moved in the 
absolutely opposite direction.
