MADISON GARDEN NYC :  Kevin Garnett makes a shot while Amare Stoudemire 
.Throughout their recent  surge, the Knicks piled up wins against the NBA's 
have-nots. The Celtics, who  entered Wednesday's game at 19-4, are certainly 
among the NBA's elite teams. The  Knicks gave them all they could handle but 
still came up short, 118-116, at the  Garden. Paul Pierce hit a go-ahead 
basket with 0.4 seconds remaining, and the  officials (correctly) ruled Amar'e 
Stoudemire's 3-pointer came after the buzzer.  The Knicks had a shot to take 
the lead with the score tied at 116, but  Stoudemire, who finished with 39 
points, missed his shot. They led most of the  game but allowed 67 points in 
the second half. A loss is a loss, but Pierce  said, "The Knicks have 
arrived." They'll get the Heat on  Friday/B.Sina/
