Fran - Yes - my hitch rack (a Yakima something or other) that holds 4 bikes came with a locking arrangement to lock the rack to the car and then a cable that locks the outer bike to the rack. (Presumably one can't get the inner bikes off if the outer bike is in the way.) I also have a 5' x 12' gardener's trailer for hauling my tandem trike (11' long) plus up to two bikes.
