    One should get a 1/8" stainless steel cable with loop ends to run around 
the rack with a loop that goes inside the trunk and under the trunk lock. 
You can close the trunk on it with the lock for it inside the trunk.
    And it's not enough to just lock a trailer to the ball as all it takes 
is a wrench to loosen the nut on the hitch ball or else pull the pin to 
release the ball assembly from the receiver. Use small padlocks to secure 
the safety chains is helpful.
    There are usually several bike thefts reported at the Hotter 'N Hell 
each year, usually from cars in motel parking lots. The only safe place at 
night is in your room with you.
