I owned a triple back when they were custom order. I sold a sports car to
buy it. Life in the mini van . . .  . .

The price tag was around $5,000. then. I went all out with a faded paint
job, all XTR components, etc.

We lived in Lamar, CO at the time (very flat) and I rode it with our two
very small children. They were about 3 & 6 years old then. It was great for
a couple of years. Then we moved for the mountains and I didn't have the
legs to get myself, two children, and the big bike up and down the climbs
here. I finally sold the bike to some people from back east who were out
here on a ski vacation.

I had a Santana. It was a wonderful bike. Very well made. We did a couple of
Santana rallies. At the time, Santana service was very personal and top
notch. We drifted away from tandems once the kids got in school. It's been
some time.

I've heard of tandem hobbes as an internet list. Jack Goertz of Alabama (who
owns a tandem shop) used to write a magazine called Tandem Talk. I don't
know if he still does.
