I use zip-loc bags for some of my packing -- the big ones, at least a gallon size. I found that they were ideal for laundry purposes: put in your shorts and jersey with a little shampoo (it's what I had available) and a bit of water. Then, zip it closed and you can knead the whole thing to get a thorough saturation of soapy water without spilling anything. When you drain it, you can squeeze the bag to get more water out, refill a couple times and finally wring out the clothes with your ultra-absorbent camp towel. Voila. I like it better than using the silnylon bags because I like to be able to see what's inside. Maybe it doesn't make any difference, but I feel I'm being more thorough if I can see the clothes as I agitate. Andrejs Ithaca, NY
