Doug is the only cycle tourist I've known of who frequently free-camps
with homeless people. He's part of that culture, since he lives in a
burned-out motor home for much of the year in Fort Bragg, California.

When touring, my only frequent interaction with homeless people has been
at hiker/biker campsites on the California coast. But very few touring
cyclists think of themselves as homeless, or as part of the homeless
culture.

I would like to meet him someday. But I think it would be difficult to
tour with Doug because his attitude and heavy load are so different from
what most of us do.
