I carry my small point and shoot camera in a clear

You can operate the camera with the bag sealed and shoot
through the plastic.  You have to be careful when turning on
the camera if it extends the lens to make sure the bag is
positioned so there's room.

Mine is a small Aquapac model that REI doesn't seem
to carry any more...

Aquapac also makes bags with a hard lens insert.
