Packs of dogs brings to mind to a job I commuted to by bicycle in  
Washington DC back in the fall of 1972.

  I worked as an Apprentice Carpenter on Richard M Nixon's Inaugural  
Stands on the east side of the US Capital.

There were and I assume still are, these big stone planters around  
the area with bushes and trees. There were packs of dogs that lived  
in those bushes in those planters.  Dogs of the non political canine  
type.
