My favorite ride, in which words and non-words spoken very well indicated the incline, was the "Terrible Hills Beginning With B" with the Finger Lakes Cycling Club. There's many slightly modified versions, but it's generally around 100+ miles with 10,000+ ft climbing. For some odd reason, the nastiest of hills in the region mostly begin with B. So many so, that I charted out a ride for this year continuing the trend, which may or may not be attempted - we'll see. The club's 2010 version of the ride started with over 20 rugged soles, and was down to 6 at the end. You can read my full write up here: http://flcycling.org/?p=1699 And I've got the RideWithGPS data here: http://ridewithgps.com/trips/95771 >From my home, 107 miles with 10,600ft climbing in 9 riding hours, 11 total.
