I've been using Rite in the Rain spiral bound notebooks for years. While not
ABSOLUTELY waterproof, its pretty sturdy stuff, available in all kinds of
sizes and shapes. I carry it in a ziplock with an incredibly small pen. At
the end of the trip, I take out the pages I've written on, and put them in
another notebook. I often transcribe to the web or other documents. Their
