FWIW, I've found Big Apple tires (I've only used the 60s, both 559 and
662, both wire and "Liteskin" versions) the most goathead resistant
tires I've used. They are not "proof" but they are close: I've ridden
a few hundred yards into a field and come out the other side to flick,
literally, hundreds of the damn' things off my tread and ride off with
no air loss at all over the next week. But some do get through: my
Fargo has a front with an annoying slow leak that I must locate and
kill.

I wonder if other, narrower, lighter Schwalbes (Marathons?) suitable
for pavement touring are as resistant?
