There are ways to make it more bulletproof too. A Quaife S/C C/R set gives 
better ratios and a wonderful sound and I guess may be stronger too.

Ford gearbox guru Brian Hill also performs some tweaks to improve the 
lubrication and does bizarre things like cutting off some of the existing gears and 
replacing them with others to get a better spread of ratios. Sounds very Heath 
Robinson but Brian is an old school engineer whose bizarre mods actually work 
and are reliable. His BGH firm is in Cranbrook, Kent.
