Roger,

If you have been pressing it against walls as described earlier, it could well
be broken. It is basically a stepper motor that winds the shaft in and out
under control of the ecu and is rather sensitive to abuse. If you let the ecu
wind it out when it is not constrained by the housing the shaft will fall off
the end and you will be able to see how it works more easily. Unfortunately
they don't tend to work very well after this has happened. They tend to either
work or not so it would seem to be unlikely that this is your problem, I would
check the throttle body and cable carefully.

Regards,

Mick

We took a young first year @ Hallam uni who'd contacted our A/O from the web

He's from Norfolk & he'd had a Caterham trackday as a pressi & was hooked. He
got a lift with 'big dave' 250 ish bhp from Sheffield to Pennistone (boy was
he impressed!!!!!! rev limiter in 4th) I took him for a more 'girlie' ride

ANY WAY - HOW DOES THE IACV WORK? & IS MINE BROKEN?
