1) Accelerometers will be added later. Track maps are not only cool but a worthwhile addition. Haven't looked into what sample rates would be required. 2) I'm using the largest I2C memory available at present. This will obviously change, and when it does...just buy it from your preferred supplier. Install the chip, upload the config data and off you go. Anyone interested in making an application on a palm or pocketpc or whatever, let me know and I'd be happy to give you the protocol info. A number of cool things could be made; to name two - a temporary storage and a graphical front end displaying real-time data... Export to Excel is a no-brainer. Btw, I was out testing the performance features today. 1.8 litre, 195bhp, 460kg. 0-100kph (ca 0-62mph) in 4.43 secs with a bit of wheel slip and not using full revs. That's much better than expected. What do Caterham claim for an R400? I'm interested in two main things. One is drawing graphs and trying to figure out what I'm doing right and wrong on the track. I'm guessing that these rates will be good enough for this. The other is drawing cool track maps ;-) I'm guessing if you added the accelerometers, these sample rates wouldn't be high enough for the maps. Anyone with a "proper" data logging system care to comment? >>/ -- how long can recording last? />41 minutes at current sampling/resolution. Is there any scope to increase that, e.g. by paying for more memory, or is that the limit? I'd ideally like to be able to log a whole track day (maybe up to 3 hours track time). Perhaps if the data could be downloaded to a temporary store, like a Palm, before finally transferring to the PC... I understand about your reluctance to use more memory / processing power in the microcontroller in order to produce less cryptic logs. How about a feature in the PC software to export in comma-delimited format so that we could import into Excel or some other tool? Quite possibly not in r1.0, obviously ;-) Still interested, Jason. www.strangely.org ------------------------------------------------- To manage your subscription options visit :- http://mailman.se7ens.net/mailman/listinfo/sevens
