I know you have a solution now as I'm late replying but if it doesn't work
out then Merlin have a number of options in their catalogue.  The favourite
seems to be a lightweight fabric pipe with a bonded in metal spring-like
wire which would hold it open.  Designed for getting cooling air from ducts
in the front spoiler to brakes on tin tops.
