Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Will check the expansion bottle thingy (thanks Greg) but I suspect it might be head gasket. Will keep checking water level & hope for the best for now. But was I right about the system taking about 6 litres & therefore needing about 1.5 litres of antifreeze? And was it OK to bung it in without draining the system? And is there likely to be a drain cock somewhere near the bottom hose cos I can't find one! Should I just unclip the bottom hose to drain it? Oh & another thing is sometimes when I rev it, it doesn't die down as quickly as it should. Is this air getting in to the carbs maybe? Maybe I just need to save up & treat it to a visit to the nice man at Milwoods.
