1) it depends on the antifreeze - 25% will usually protect to around -5 degrees; I run 33% usually

2) AFAIK it's fine just to put it in - it'll mix - or that's what I find when I use an antifreeze tester

3) If it is an xflow, then no drain cock - just disconnect a hose and wipe up afterwards

4) dying down slowly - sorry, no idea.
