Oh well. If you get into a similar situation again, a used gear-type
probably has negligible wear. They're supposed to run forever. That
said, if the differential (pun intended) between a new and used one is
less than 25% then you're probably right to withdraw.

No. got a pic of the new flywheel? Have you resolved what clutch to fit?

Just thought I'd post the differences between the standard type-9 (2
litre Sierra box) against your new one. "Interesting" doesn't cover it.
"Superb" might. Hope Se7ens.net doesn't bugger up the formatting.

I've put 22 inch driven wheels in and then at the bottom (3rd chart) my
own setup. Ignore the max power column. I'm interested by the
similarities and differences like we both will hit 52mph in 1st at (our
own) max revs and that we're within a hair of each others "potential"
top speed.

This shows (to me) that you have an intelligently spaced set of ratios.
You only have to compare it with the original box (chart 1) to see how
silly the normal 5-speeder is in a Se7en.
