Make sure there is no "A dealer must do this" clause in the bike's warrantee. My bike is so far out of warantee that I don't care about such things, but for a new fresh bike like yours, you might want to inquire about that. I had my dealer do that one for me. I prompty crashed anyway (first long ride after the 600 mile service!) but that's irrelevant. I just wanted to make sure that everything was tight and nothing fell off, etc. From then on, I try to do my own basic maintenance, with the occasional trips to the mechanic for stuff I don't feel confident about doing. (NOTE: I said I said trips to "the mechanic" not "the dealer") V ----- Original Message ----- From: "mark hogg" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 3:24 PM Subject: Re: 600 mile service > 600 mile service consists of an oil change > and a check of torque on major chasis bolts. > yes you can do it your self also walmart > sells the oil filter. > > --- Vu Phan <[email protected]> wrote: > >> I just reached 600 miles on my '06 SV naked.
