I've got pics of my 2001 both with the case and without (just the rack);
not sure how best to show them to you though, as I don't have a website
or such you can easily access.  I can e-mail them if you send me your
address (mine's [email protected] - and be sure you spell the
last name correctly).

I wouldn't be without my Givi rack and case, and I don't think the bike
looks bad either way.  I rarely take the case off; it's just too
convenient, and I've been caught a couple of times without it and
wishing I had it with me.  I didn't get the great big (52 liter?) case,
because that one DOES look like you're being followed everywhere by a
little UFO...but the smaller cases are just fine (and I don't generally
need to be able to stow two helmets, anyway).  The only thing I don't
have on mine yet is the light kit, which would make me feel better about
this whole set-up - the rack does hang out a bit over the taillight, and
makes me wonder if it's all that visible.
