The doohickey bolt supports and secures the doohickey, in the space between the blinker fluid reservoir and the double clutch adjustment pin. Mostly, the doohickey is used to prevent overheating of the rear Thelmann wire, in the event that the plasma intercooler Jeffries tube is plugged with cavorite residue. It should be checked, tightened, set to align with magnetic north, or replaced roughly every vernal equinox, or whenever you notice that your Doppler shifts aren't quite as crisp as they once were. Most often, it is supplied as a set with a replacement rev recycler. > I've noticed that sometimes when I shift from > 1st to 2nd it finds a false neutral. I dunno if this is supposed to be a common thing for the SV, but Gawd knows I've had it happen enough. And there's nothing "false" about this neutral; it's definitely a real, honest-to-Zeus neutral, as the screaming engine (while the bike starts coasting down to 5 MPH) lets everyone in the vicinity know. But I've always chalked those things up to a wimpy upshift on my part; a good, solid upward whack of my boot on the shifter, and it always seems to go right into 2nd nicely. But if everyone says I can blame the transmission when that happens, hey, I'll be more than happy...:-) Bob M. ------------------------------------------------- For all your SV needs: http://www.svrider.com To change your list settings or leave SV650-L, please visit http://www.hawkgt.com/sv650/lists.asp
