Bob,

Your points about the Givi top box are well taken. However, I guess I have
to admit that for me, it comes down to more a matter of aesthetics than
functionality. If I can get the functionality I want w/out having to
sacrifice the aesthetics, that's the route I'm more inclined to take. That's
why the Luggage Locker and RKA soft luggage products appeal to me more than
the Givi products, at least insofar as the SV650 is concerned. With some
other bike, say a VStrom 1000 or R1200GS, I'd probably think differently
about it.

I too do not like to carry the 2nd laptop in my backpack but on the
occasions I need to transport both, I don't have much other choice at the
moment. And I can't bring myself to shell out the $$$ for something that
could easily carry two laptops safely when I only occasionally need to
transport more than one and I already have something that works fine for a
single laptop.

However, with all the suggestions proffered in this thread already, I am
beginning to rethink my options. I'm thinking the Luggage Locker laptop
carrier for the single laptop and then getting the Pelican laptop carrier
for when I take it on business trips. Then I could use the Rok straps to
secure Pelican case to the rear seat and the Luggage Locker laptop carrier
to the tank would be ideal for those rare occasions I need to transport
both. I just need to find another side consulting job to pay for all the
toys I want or get my kids off the payroll more quickly.
