The card is 'only' the APCO25 voice decoder, the 3600/9600 baud
control channel decoding is done by the scanner not the card. The
BC250 firmware simply does not support 9600 decoding.

The cards for BC250/296 are identical and can be swapped but a BC250
can never decode 9600 systems.

baud systems, has anyone tried putting the BCi96 in the BC250d (i
think its the bci25 that you could buy for the BC250 originally) and
had it work on the normal APCO P25? as well as the 3600baud
control? I think the card just decodes the digital audio no?

If you have come here to find out about the 250D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-250D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-250D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
