FM switches to NFM

Anyone ever had this happen?

My 250 began stopping on a couple of VHF-Hi frequencies and I heard white noise. The 
squelch did not affect it.

I noticed that these frequencies, along with a few other high band frequencies and all the 
UHF frequencies had changed to NFM mode. I changed the mode back to FM and the 
problem stopped.

Anyone ever had the mode to switch itself like that?
