OK then here's a not dumb question. Is there any indicator on the display  to 
signify that the scanner is looking for digital signals? Inside the manual it 
 show a P25 icon and on the manual cover it show a frequency and APCO 25  
displayed right in the middle. I have seen neither of those and when I program  
the channels I don't see either indication anywhere. I am still programing  
manually with the manual.   Brian

No Brian, the only dumb question here is the one that is not asked.  ;-)

FYI ARC250 acts like Excel when manipulating data. I use a *very*  old
version of ARC250 and it meets my needs perfectly. I have however  heard
mixed results of people using the USB to serial cable but for they  most part
the reports have been positive.
