John,
Do you have a volt ohm meter?
The battery voltage should be 4.8 vdc.  If not you probably have either a defective battery or something wrong with the charging circuit.

Also check the AC Adaptor, it is supposed to put out 12 vdc on the connector to the radio.

  I have a brand new battery pack that was charged fully in my 250D and still I get the low battery indicator and it beeps, is there a fix to this problem or do I have to send it back to Uniden for a repair?
