Does this make sense?: "Why of course, all I need to do is turn off
power save mode, the radio will then use constant power, and I can
then use a "3V DC" simple wall wart to power the radio. The only
problem would be when we initially hit the on switch[!?]..., aside
from that, the R2 won't waver its current usage, therefore the
wallwart won't waver its volts, therefore the R2 will think all is
hunky dory."

Mine didn't come with it, so I was going to ask how one can tell if
one's run of the mill charger will substitute for the factory charger
in your formula, however given the chargers around here are guilty of
* Phony "fast/slow charge" selector buttons that aren't connected to
anything as seen when opening them up. And
* Grounding right to 120AC, so that you get a shock if you touch the
contacts when removing the batteries without unplugging it first.

Wish there was an 3v gel cell that one could substitute for the AAs,
all I have is 6v... Changing batteries so often means dropping them
on the ground often too.

what if they are already warm, meaning time to take them out?

P.S. just got thru using delete-trailing-whitespace again here in
emacs, removing the invisible blank that is appended to the end of
each line by several posters here.
