The Comet is about 1 1/2" long--the Maldol is about twice that length. The Comet is hard, inflexible plastic--the Maldol is very flexible, similar to sponge. Mind you, they aren't designed for being an 'all around' antenna. But, they are good for up close monitoring. I use them when at airshows, or other places where I have the scanner actually inside my pocket. The Maldol gives a much better performance.
