Hi Mark I am not sure how old the scanner is. I bought it off Ebay from a guy in the UK. I have checked with an Icom dealer about servicing it. They told me to check with IcomAmerica. I will get some contact cleaner and spray the buttons, and then blow out with canned air. Another member Bob Parness suggested it could be the speaker jack too. I was wondering how much trouble it would be to remove the whole scanner from the care to clean the buttons where they touch inside. I have had the back cover off, and it appears there are several screws that holds it to the front part of the case. I will first try the contact cleaner. And take things from there.
