That depends on where you are actually standing when you're monitoring.
Obviously, they work the same if you're relatively close, with a direct line
of site of whatever you're monitoring. In that case I love the CH-32.  Its
so small that it can fit entirely inside my shirt pocket.  Or I can put it
inside my pants pocket, with enough room to spin it around!

However, if you're at quite a distance (say, one mile) without a direct line
of site, the Maldol works much better.
