Optolinx and the R2

Hi All.

I was wondering if it is possible to use the "Optolinx" from 
optoelectronics as a PC interface with the R2. The Optolinx 
officially supports the R10, and I've seen that both the R10 and the 
R2 both use Icom's OPC-478 cloning cable althogh in the optolinx 
manual it says to connect the mono cable it came with to the CI-5 
jack on the R10. Obviously the R2 does not have this port. Does 
anyone know if it would still work?
