That cold joint is enough to attenuate  the input enough to prevent trunking. Resolder it and it's good as new. After mine broke off a couple of times I resolved the problem  with a flexible braid. It's a design weakness where the chassis can flex and the wire can't. Drop the radio on the antenna or stress the antenna against your body and you'll break that wire sooner or later. The 246t is more rugged and I never had the same mishap, but to minimise the possibility, I swapped the stock ducky for a Comet Miracle Baby stubby. The Comet is not as long-range as the stock antenna, but good in the city.
