Consider the possibility that the memory in the 245 has become corrupted, if 
the unit has been stored with a flat battery for a long time.

Does the 245 work properly?  (I.e. does all the frequency and talkgroup 
information look OK inside the unit, and does it scan and trunk scan 
correctly?)

As a last resort, you might need to reset the 245 and start from scratch.

Just working locally.  Want to download freqs/groups onto computer, edit 
then upload back to scanner.
