Another option is to listen to your police via online services. There are=
many people who have already paid for the equipment to listen to police an=
d other agencies and then broadcast it onto the Internet.

  Take a look at: www.dxzone.com

You'll have to move up to at least the 396XT but you might want to chec=
k and make sure state hasn't also gone to scrambled/encrypted. Local radio=
group should be able to tell you or a quick chat on Radio Reference site. =
As far as programing goes FreeScan is available for free and simplifies th=
at challenge and with an account from RadioReference you can just download =
and upload whatever you want. When it comes to using the radio keyboard I =
usually us it only for changes on the go and close call or search. Program=
ing is just too time consuming when FreeScan can do it in minutes and the p=
rice is right.

    Hi there,

I think my state (Mass) police changed to a Digital Trunking System. I =
can=E2=80=99t figure out what it=E2=80=99s exactly called, might it be APCO=
-25 or Project 25. That=E2=80=99s what=E2=80=99s listed in the =E2=80=9CTy=
pe=E2=80=9D column on RadioReference, where other systems say Motorola or E=
DACS. (I=E2=80=99m looking for the Commonwealth of Mass (Project 25) Syste=
m. It=E2=80=99s listed here:

    http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?stid=3D25&tab=3Dtrs

Does anyone know if I can program my BC 245XLT for this? and if not, a=
nyone here know if I can do this on a BC346XT?

    Thanks much.
