I still use my 245 every day =E2=80=93 along with a 436 I got for the digit=
al stuff. Where I live, 2 things that I like went digital so far, but a lot=
is still on analog and I find the sound quality of my 245 to be cleaner. =
I=E2=80=99d be interested in buying a backup =E2=80=93 maybe.. my issue wit=
h the 245=E2=80=99s is that the speakers go or get weak. I still use it fo=
r trunked and conventional scanning, both of which I have on the 436. I run=
them both, and I have the 436 scanning a larger selection, so my 245 goes =
around faster to the things I like the most.
Re getting a digital scanner =E2=80=93 the 436 was a big learning curve for=
me and I don=E2=80=99t use many of the features, but it=E2=80=99s nice and=
loaded with features. Had I known about it =E2=80=93 I might have gotten t=
he HP1 instead.. I now have one of those too, I bought used, so the hit was=
n=E2=80=99t as hard, and I don=E2=80=99t mind taking that one in the car et=
c. There=E2=80=99s a HP2 now that has more types than the 1 I think.. There=
=E2=80=99s also still the 396 (or something) that does digital and I think =
some people liked it better than the 436. Maybe before buying, join one of =
those groups.. I=E2=80=99m not a good one to tell you =E2=80=93 and I did n=
ot join a group first, I went with the 436 figuring I may as well get the l=
atest technology, and that has proved to be good and not so good.=20=20

I am officially back to the group after a very long absence. I haven't been=
able to login to my Yahoo account for nearly 4 years! I could not remember=
my password to save my life. My recovery email was deleted, so that was no=
t an option either. Getting an actual living human from Yahoo on the phone =
was next to impossible! I think I would have been able to call and speak to=
Jesus much easier and quicker.=20
I still have my BC245XLT in pristine condition with all included accessorie=
s, manuals and even the original retail box. Is it for sale? Maybe. Am I se=
lling my data cable? Nope. Now that I we got that out of the way, who is st=
ill using their 245, and what are you monitoring? Everything seems to be on=
digital these days. Also, I would like to purchase a handheld digital scan=
ner but have no clue as to what is worth the money and what is not. Can any=
one of you great folks help me out please?=20
