I still have my 245XLT i purcheased a PRO 96 for digital so dont use it=20
much anymore The rechargeable as well as the cable for progtaming that ca=
me=20
with it have never been used. I found that uising my pro 96 has been able=
=20
to do all the 245 can as well as digital but i am not wanting to sell my 2=
45=20
as if the pro 96 ever fails i will be without a backup for portable use=20
which is what i use the 96 for. I have 110vac ones at home BC 300 and a=20
radio shack 100 ch and a regency 10 channel programable all analog only Th=
e 245=20
has never stopped working i took it out 2 weels ago and it still worked=20
with a 110vac supply i was charging the battery in it that i bought prior =
to=20
the 245 after hearing about it on this group joe Leonard in Virginia at=
=20
the junction of Interstate 81 and interstate 66 at 728 feet=20=20
elevation asl all scanning works great from here=20=20=20

stuff. Where I live, 2 things that I like went digital so far, but a lot is=
=20=20
still on analog and I find the sound quality of my 245 to be cleaner. I=
=E2=80=99d be=20
interested in buying a backup =E2=80=93 maybe.. my issue with the 245=E2=80=

the speakers go or get weak. I still use it for trunked and conventional =

scanning, both of which I have on the 436. I run them both, and I have the =
436=20=20
scanning a larger selection, so my 245 goes around faster to the things I=20
like the most.
=20
Re getting a digital scanner =E2=80=93 the 436 was a big learning curve for=
me and=20
I don=E2=80=99t use many of the features, but it=E2=80=99s nice and loaded =
with features.=20=20
Had I known about it =E2=80=93 I might have gotten the HP1 instead.. I now =
have one=20
of those too, I bought used, so the hit wasn=E2=80=99t as hard, and I don=
=E2=80=99t mind=20
taking that one in the car etc. There=E2=80=99s a HP2 now that has more ty=
pes than=20
the 1 I think.. There=E2=80=99s also still the 396 (or something) that doe=
s digital=20
and I think some people liked it better than the 436. Maybe before buying,=
=20
join one of those groups.. I=E2=80=99m not a good one to tell you =E2=80=
=93 and I did not=20
join a group first, I went with the 436 figuring I may as well get the=20
latest technology, and that has proved to be good and not so good.=20=20
=20
Hope this helps. If you are interested in selling your 245 let me know.

=20
=20=20=20
=20
I am officially back to the group after a very long absence. I haven't been=
=20
able to login to my Yahoo account for nearly 4 years! I could not remember=
=20
my password to save my life. My recovery email was deleted, so that was=20
not an option either. Getting an actual living human from Yahoo on the pho=
ne=20
was next to impossible! I think I would have been able to call and speak t=
o=20
Jesus much easier and quicker.=20=20
I still have my BC245XLT in pristine condition with all included=20=20
accessories, manuals and even the original retail box. Is it for sale? Mayb=
e. Am I=20
selling my data cable? Nope. Now that I we got that out of the way, who is=
=20
still using their 245, and what are you monitoring? Everything seems to be =
=20
on digital these days. Also, I would like to purchase a handheld digital =
=20
scanner but have no clue as to what is worth the money and what is not. Can=
=20=20
anyone of you great folks help me out please?=20=20
I'm glad to see that this group is still around. I look forward to chatting=
=20
with you all soon.=20
Thanks :)
