Hi Tony,

Good to hear you found the problem. The gender changers I have used are just basically back-to-back connectors. Yours may have been the kind with a plastic housing 
in between? Cables are not always wired completely as well.

I bought Proscan minutes after trying it out. Even better than Butel's ARC780 which does not work on my 64 bit computers. That's why I was looking for something 
else. I still have one XP machine left though. Well worth the $$$ IMHO - hope you like it. Just a satisfied customer.
