Just a quick email thanks for you reply I found the issue was the gender changer the software could not see the scanner through it so burnt fingers after made a new lead following the pin outs from the scanner and it is working fine got 28 dyas to play then decide wether to purchase the problem is that like the word FREE anyway thanks again

What port does your device manager say the port is? Don't worry about the baud 
rate in device manager, the software and radio need to match, I use 19.2k also. 
I have had Windows (with an USB to serial converter) assign a port number higher 
than the software can use; i.e. Port 10 or greater. From the device 
manager->Ports>USB Serial Port>Port settings>Advanced> you can change the port 
to a lower number in the range in Proscan/other software will use.

Let us know what solution you find please. I'm always interested in hear what 
fixes things!

Does bearcat communicate with other software..eg arc780 or is only with 
proscan.that you have problems...Is cable straight through or null modem type or 
is gender changer straight through
