   Actually, the earlier trunking scanners will function to some extent on rebanded Motorola 800 trunk systems.  I've found that the scanner recognizes about 60-70% of the rebanded frequencies.   Because the frequency plan changed in the rebanding process, the firmware in older trunking scanners won't recognize the channels in the new frequency plan.

  The BC-796 and later scanners will handle rebanded systems IF....IF you update the firmware in the scanners using the downloads from Uniden website.
