Don,thanx for that. You know, there are times when I think that I shouldn't be allowed near a computer or a scanner without an appropriate adult.Had I read the Manual beforehand I would have known to Press and Hold the 'E' button to put the scanner into Remote mode.I know that now. However in my disgust I had uninstalled ProScan from my PC.So having discovered my faux-pas,I tried to reinstall it,only to be told that my 30 day trial period had expired! Not to be outdone,I installed Proscan on another PC that I just happened to have handy, held the 'E' button, adjusted the baud rate and actually got the thing running.I have now however inadvertently deleted all the frequencies that I had stored in Bank 1.There was only 20 or so as I only got the scanner yesterday,so it's not too bad. (Note to self:Read the manual,Stupid!) Onwards and upwards! Gerry. --- In [email protected], Don wrote: > > Hi Gerry, > > That usually means you have a problem with the serial connection.
