In the last few weeks my 785 has been become very "Microphonic". When I tap on the case and the radio is stopped on an active channel, the tap is amplified through the speaker. It sounds like a thud. This was a common problem with tube type radios. Don't usual see this with solid state devices. Also, it is more evident at the higher frequencies (800mHZ). At high volumes it also has feedback with audio present. Another issue I have always had with my 785 is a audible chirp when scanning. The chirp occurs when the scanner is transitioning between a trunked bank to a conventional bank during scanning. My 780s don't exhibit this. Anybody else seen these problems? I hope this is clear to all group members..
