I work in Emergency Services and have 3 785d's along with multiple band radio's such as VHF and UHF rigs that are 100+ watts, in addition to 800 trunked radio. This equipment has been installed and utilized since March of 2001 and I have yet to experience ANY type of interference or complications of any nature. My antenna's are all roof mount, many within 16" of eachother. I hope this information will aid you in your quest. --- In [email protected], "ftowers" <wb4kxs@a...> wrote: > > Does anyone have any experience using a 785D and a ham 2 meter (or VHF > high band) 50 watt radio with both mounted in a car and with both > connected to appropriate mobile antennas that are two or three feet > apart on the trunk or roof of the car? > > What I really want to know is if the 785D can stand being in that > strong an rf field and not be damaged. > > Thanks. > > Fred If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
