                  I believe that Uniden will repair it at a flat rate and d=
o a nice job.  I have a 996 that needsw to go back to them as well.  I thin=
k the quote was $65.00 plus shipping.  In today's economic situation, that'=
s not bad at all.  Go to their website.  it's all discussed there.

You may want to check with Uniden since I believe that they have a flat rat=

  repair rate.



Is this audio from the built in speaker or from a jack to an external

  speaker? There's some history of jacks breaking after repeated plugging a=
nd

  unplugging.
