yes they will fix for a flat rate plus the shipping.

 you have to fill out the form when you go under product repair then print the form and send it with your radio to be repaired

I believe that Uniden will repair it at a flat rate and do a nice job. I have a 996 that needsw to go back to them as well. I think the quote was $65.00 plus shipping. In today's economic situation, that's not bad at all. Go to their website. it's all discussed there.

Maybe it's your ears since your shouting in your email (ALL CAPITALS). ;-]

You may want to check with Uniden since I believe that they have a flat rate

repair rate.

Is this audio from the built in speaker or from a jack to an external

speaker? There's some history of jacks breaking after repeated plugging and

unplugging.
