As far as those new $500+ digital/home patrol/capt. krunch decoder ring spe= cial scanners go, well lets just say for the price of 1 of those I can buy = 5 BC780XLT's and be a lot better off for what I want to hear..... 12+ scann= ers, zero programmed with public safety..... oh, and the local public safet= y is still an analog trunking system and will be for some time... Back to the subject of my OP, THIS scanner, the bc785d, serves me well here= and I simply wanted to state it:) it's still relevant here in the SFO bay = area. It does have the infamous front- end swampage but an FM trap cured th= at where it was worst. I sure miss the Blue Angels coming here to SFO-I used to park their freqs i= n the MIL band here at the desk, patch a cordless phone on it and have a gr= eat time watching them from my rooftop. This 785d did great on MIL.
