Thanks to all who responded to my question. I posted a similar
question on the arc250pro group asking if it could be done via the
Virtual Control portion of that software and got the following
response from Gommert:

"Only in ARC250PRO. Select 'Misc' tab and there is a vfo frame where
you enter a frequency. If you use basic you just enter a freq in a
channel.

Tried that and it works SLICK, so problem solved. I think the
software stores it in Channel 999 or 1000, as someone else suggested,
but it's lots easier to manage the scanner via ARC250PRO than
manually anyhow.

Thanks again.

If you have come here to find out about the 785D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-785D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-785D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
