Sounds like you have a bad cord/connection-at-cord.  It is re-crimpable, 
I had to do that on the cord that came with my MD-100.  Although my hand 
mic says Yaesu on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was also a knock off.

Are you saying someone glued the mic connector in?  Or just the control 
panel?  It would suck if it was the latter, you have to remove quite a 
bit to get that off to fix it right. To just replace the mic you'd have 
to break the glue then re-glue afterward.  Actually if it was mic 
connector that was glued it wouldn't be that great either, the connector 
is soldered to the board.
