Hi everyone!
I'm new to the group, and a new excited FT-100D owner. I just recently bought the radio used, it was posted on QRZ, (works perfect, great condition, blah blah), feel like I got a fair deal. I bought it to have an all mode solid state compliment to my main Trio Hybrid HF rig in the shack. Its a bonus to have VHF/UHF.

I happily hooked it up and made contact with a few friends on 2M FM simplex. Things were going fine, fans running as I read they should (allegedly un-modded, un molested radio). Then the fans quit mid QSO, and I quickly pulled the power way back, and then shut it down for the night until I can sort that out.

From what I can tell so far, I have no fan at all on TX, any band, into a dummy load.
It's putting out full power into the dummy load on a few random bands that I've briefly tested, but didn't go through them all. I also did a full reset as described in the manual.
I do have a scratchy mic cable, that I had to hold just right, but when holding right, had good audio report.

It's kind of a bummer to have problems right out of the gate like this, but it seems that no real damage has been done so far.

Any quick things to look for before I dig into this, or send it away? This is new territory for me. I'm not scared to poke around a little, but there's a lot of little components crammed in that little box.

 Thanks for any input.
